The Different Levels of Chemical Protective Clothing

There are different levels of chemical protective clothing ranging from A to D, A being the highest level of protection and D being the least. Resting permeation, degradation and penetration are the most important aspects of protective clothing. All these levels of clothing are discussed in detail in 8 hour Hazwoper courses. The different types of clothing include hard hats, boots, protective suit, respirator etc. The number and types of protective gear depends majorly upon the level of risk faced by the workers. The last level, that is, Level D includes protective footwear, gloves and coveralls. The level above that, Level C consists of inner and outer gloves, mask along with a respirator, hard hat, face shield, cloth coveralls, two way radio, escape mask and a two way radio.
