Types of Hazardous Waste Material

Almost every industry, no matter how big or small, generates hazardous waste materials. And those hazardous waste are dangerous or can be potentially harmful to human health and the environment. Thus, it is very important to make sure that hazardous waste materials are trashed with care. Hazardous wastes are categorized into following parts: Reactive or Explosive: This type of waste is capable of causing an explosion or releasing poisonous fumes when it is exposed to water,air or other chemicals. Eg: Old medicinal ether and out-dated ammunition. Corrosive: It can burn your skin, cause irritation in the eyes and it can even destroy living tissues if there is any contact. It is capable of corroding rubber, metals or plastic. For example; automobile battery is corrosive. Intangible: These types of hazardous waste materials are highly inflammable. It can burn at or below 140o F. Eg: Unwanted gasoline. Radioactive: This type of waste material can damage and destroy cells and chromosomal mat
